3ds Max viewports not loading?
I'm running 3ds max through vmware on my mac, but whenever i load 3ds max, the viewports do not load, so whatever is on my desktop shows through. Also, if i create a object, that also does not appear but it still believes there is a shape there ( i can hover over the empty space and a box name will appear)
Do i need to load a grid for my viewports or is this a installation problem? Any helps appreciated! |

I'm not very familiar with VMWare, but it seems to me there's something wrong with the drivers used to draw things in your viewport. What version of Max are you using?
If I'm not mistaken, up to 3DS Max 2011 uses standard Direct3D and 2012 uses the latest Nitrous. If you're using 2012 I'd suggest changing Nitrous to Direct3D (9 or 10) again through the menu options (Customize -> Preferences -> Viewports -> Choose Driver..). If you're using 2011 or older versions, try fiddling with the settings found there or under Configure Driver. Good luck |
