Udk 2011 same problem with build all
I had install a new release of UDK 2011 (directx9 64 bit). to build the same scene that i builded in UDK 2009 i see very long time. in 2009 release i spend only few second. what is changed? what i have to change in lights settings?

build a builder volume that covers your map/scene and then in the volume options choose lightmass_importance_volume that will speed things up, obviously on a huge map with a lot of lights it will still take a long time but for smaller scenes it will make a noticeable difference to build times.

You probably used to have a build before lightmass was added.
You could turn it off in world properties, but a better solution would be to do test builds with low-res shadow maps and then set them to a higher resolution for your final build.
