3ds Max Export problem

Hello,

My Problem: Always when i export a textured model (obj, 3ds etc.) and i want to import it later or send it to someone the model appears without any textures but the mtl (obj) for example is written propertly. Its really frustating to got to this point of creation and then the export dont work propertly.

Hope someone can help me with it.

kind regards

I think you have to send the textures separately. I can't remember how, or if, you can do this in Max but in Blender you had the option of 'packing' a file so that it will included the textures. There is probably some way to do it in max, or at least some script.

I haven't done it before so I'm not sure if it works. But I believe that in the material editor you can import your .mat file that is exported with the .obj and as long as the texture files are in the same folder they should pull into the material library...

But again, I'm just speculating as I haven't tried it before.

I would say make sure your textures are in the same folders as the .max file and then export to the same folder that way when it looks for the textures it's in the same directory.
