Max Unwrap...Trapped in "Select all" mode?
I am having some major problems with 3DS max unwrap, for some unknown reason it has decided to disallow me from selecting individual vertices and is trapped in some kind of psuedo-"select all" mode in which no matter what mode I select it auto-highlights and selects all other vertices\edges\faces which it considers attached whenever I attempt to select an individual part.
Is this some kind of bug? Did I accidentally change some kind of options which is not obviously visible that causes this? ![]()

Unfortunately, that is not the fix. That was actually the first thing I looked at when I started having this problem, and it was already unchecked. ( I actually tried checking it to see if it would somehow trick it into working ) but that did not work either. It's currently unchecked and I still have the problem.

Recollapse object...nope
It affects all meshes. Reinstalled max...same problem. Still doesn't work. This is starting to get irritating. I'm starting to suspect it may be some kind of wacko Vista bug ( this machine is vista ). The drivers for vista are after all, half baked. Unless anybody has any other bright ideas, I may to export as OBJ and do the UV's on my linux ( has maya )

Have you tried checking if you had the "Select Element", or if you are using Chunnuts UV tools like me, the "Sync to Element" option selected? It's near where you would select either verticies, faces, edges. Having this checked will make it so that you select all of each "part" or "island" of UVs.
