Night terrain

hi all
anybody know how to make a night time terrain..i'm working on a chopper sim, and required a night flight. The problem is...... i'm dealing with lots of satellite image. Do i have to manually convert the image to night time or there's anotehr way out?
The city light is really... really.... going to kill me.
