Vertex animation export
Hello everyone.
I currently have an animation that was created in 3d Studio Max with the cloth modifier. Once I create the keys, the object becomes a mesh with vertex animation. I am looking to export this animation into an open file format such as collada. But, I noticed that collada does not support this. The only solution I have come up with was to add a point cache modifier to each one of the animated pieces of geometry save out the .xml and .mc files with the fbx plug-in. There has to be a better way to do this.... is there? This has become a major hang point in development and am looking for advice everywhere. Any options the community provides will be greatly appreciated. David Update I have also tried to go under the Motion tab, then trajectory. I put in my frame range, check position, rotation and scale. Then hit collapse. I figured this would bake the keys....I was wrong. When I export to fbx or collada and choose the bake key options all goes fine. But once I import the file back in, the animation is gone again. Last edited by AsylumGame; 10-06-2009 at 03:09 PM. |
