Tutorial: Texturing a Metal Crate

In this video, I explain how to texture a convincing metal piece, and how to get a smooth result that doesn't look like stone. For this tutorial I used Max 2008, Photoshop CS2 with the xNormal plugins, Doylle's viewport shader, and the 8monkey Marmoset Toolbag.

Also make sure you check out Stefan Morrell's hard surface tutorial as well!

Download the supplemental materials here.

It's very nice to see your workflow and all the little things you add.

Brilliant, but I watched 5 minutes in and it seems like the audio comes way after or is way ahead of the video?
Might be me though, but anyway bookmarked

The audio is recorded separately from the video.

Video's at double speed and then spoken on top of, commenting on what's happening.
