Thanks for the time and effort you put into this video.

I was also wondering what the multicoloured base map was for? I thought it might of been for selecting different parts of the geometry on the UV map?

The multicolored map is the UV exported with texporter from 3ds max. It's using the face normals setting to produce colored uvs.

I'm been trying to figure out how you got that "Highlighted Edges" method working with Xnormal.

Could you possibly explain that in further detail?

Thanks.

Forgive me if this has been asked already, but I'm sort of confused . So I'd like to ask you directly .

I notice when your painting over at around 4:30 the grey seems to be outlined with a black edge. What is confusing me is how you do this. I'm not completely sure if you mentioned how you did it in the tut or not. I have tried numerous things, but can't get that result.

Is there a certain technique to this that I'm missing?

Thank you,
~SA

apply a stroke effect to that layer, a very dark stroke.

there is indeed a couple of stuff in the video that goes unexplained, that's why I needed to pause all the time, and watch some of the parts, almost frame by frame to really see what and how he did stuff.

This tut is really great, I learn't so much.
