good post chris.

Tangently related [url=http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1592730019//ref=nosim/gameartist-20 is this book[/url]
Originally I got it for a class I was taking, but there is a lot of good info on the actual DESIGN process of a game rather than any specific art or programming concern. I recomend it as its what is often missing from so many game/mod/project efforts.

excellent article, very informative and well put together. Learned a lot by reading this, and i couldnt agree more, if you are willing to work for free in this day and age to show your passions for something, it can be nothing but a good thing.

on another note if any one has any spare time for someone very new to all this, please give me a shout, very...sorry EXTREEMLY interested in landing my first job within the games industry so badly that im pretty much willing to do anything to get there .....within reason :P
