great tutorial man. i started with not having a clue how to model, but now have a pretty good idea (i mean im definitely still a beginner, but i think this was a perfect start. jump right in so to speak). anyway, much thanks. its still a wip cause i havent finished the photoshop part just because ive been busy, but the modeling tut was awesome.

Poor Squnit, nobody helped you yet. Simply go to "Customize -> Preferences -> Viewports" Then click on "Configure Driver" and check background texturesize 1024 and download texture size 512. You can also click on "match bitmapsize as closely as possible" on both and check "anisotropic". Then restart max and you will see that your texture looks much better in the viewport

hey stormy, any idea where i can get the NagelSeries Brushes you use? The only ones i found were these.

Hey guys,

i have a serrious question about that dodge and burn tool that stormy uses. I like it, but i dont like that it is a destructive tool. Once you dodged and burned something you cant just erase it since it can not be on a seperate layer.

Does anyone of you know of a good alternative maybe?

And yes i know there are propably thousands of them but maybe someone has a specific that works really good, that you wanna share.

Well, screen and multiply layer blend modes do nearly the same thing as dodge and burn, respectively.

I really advise you avoid dodge and burn, though. They completely knock out colours and you end up with a desaturated, dead looking texture. Best to use regular colours painted on new layers to handle your highlights and shadow - your texture will thank you for it
