One of the links doesn't work, it's the one from the top 10 distractions...

good article Noel

That guy that wrote the 10 distractions list must be the busiest guy in the world - no chat, no candy, no comfy chairs, no greeting people who come in the room!

A great tutorial, especially containing links about hollistic problem solving. Cool stuff indeed.

I did noting that the " Free yourself from your Inbox" link was broken. Looks like something truncated it

Nice one!

Cool article. If I may add one thing: Lesson one: unplug! Take off your head phones! Turn off the radio! Switch off the CD! Turn off the tape! Close the door!

I got this from Richard Williams's "The Animator's Survival Kit"
The story goes that Williams asked Milt Kahl if he ever listed to classical music while he was working. According to Williams, Kahl burst out: "of all the s-s-s-stupid god-god-god-damned questions I-I-I've never heard such I-I-I-I Never heard a-a-a-f-f-f-f-stupid question!
Iy-iy-iy-iy- I'm not SMART enough to think of more than one thing at a time." (Williams 2001: 41-45)

From:
Williams, Richards. The Animator's Survival Kit. London: Faber & Faber, 2001.

Lesson one ends with a picture of Williams hard at work, wearing a sweater with "Animation is concentration" on it.

Try it! When I need to get work done, be it a paper for university; to study for an exam; finish an animation; or anything else serious, I lock myself up, switch of everything, pull out my internet cable, get myself a mug of tea and start cracking. It is amazing what you can do if you just put your mind to one thing alone.

Yep, this is a very helpful article. Also thanks for tips Jake... I guess I mush give up my bad habit of watching movies while I work :| Don't think I could ever touch the internet cable The only time I close me messenger is when I record my modeling... Guess I should do that often... people are always finding something to chat about

Are you crazy Jake ?
That's how I get most work done, with music! ;o I find I work faster/better/relaxed with music that puts me in a "zone". Then the hours pass by very quickly
I use rainlendar for my "todo" list, best app ever!
