Hey man, there should be instructions on the page I linked to. They should be all the way down at the bottom.

Also about the texturing tute, I haven't made that yet. When I get time again I will hopefully get a couple more video tutes done. Most likely it will be with a new object. I'd like to touch more on normal mapping next time though.

Anyway here is the model for you guys to use if you'd like

Model is here

i have an unwrapping related question. maybe it has been discussed before but is there anyway to hide certain parts of your 3D model to unwrap what is beneath it? For example i am just unwrapping an AK47 and it has some stuff inside but it is a pain to reach these faces because of the stuff around it :/

You should just be albe to select polygons and hide them using the Hide Selected button in the toolbar on the right.

yes, that is what i have tried but when i then continue unwrapping and later go on "unhide selected" and apply the unwrap uvw modifier, the parts i have been unhiding are still hidden, or in other words.. gone!

Try using Unhide All rather than Unhide Selected. The things you've hidden will no longer be selected as you've been off selecting new stuff in the meantime.

retardedmonkey : thanks for the effort you took in making that video. I have found my workflow increasing ten fold, and making texturing a lot faster. iv been lurking here for ages, but my first post goes to you.

Thanks!
