Thanks Stormy, great tuts. I was working on a dragunov rifle, but was having problem with the tex, so I took a break to follow these while making a desert eagle.

That's pre-optimise, so the backfaces and probably a bunch of un-used faces are still there. Crits appreciated.

Dear Stormy,

thank you for this wonderful tutorial. I just discovered it on moddb (where i also downloaded it really fast). I am just on part 2 of your video "02 Modelling 1.wmv" and i already have a problem :P

The secondary image (Glock 1802.jpg) that you put behind the first one seems to be bigger as the one i have.. as if you transformed it to be bigger but i really would like to know the exact height and width. I feel like i can not continue this tut since i need both reference pictures at time. With a little hope you know what i mean, and maybe you or someone else can help me.

Best regards,
rascal
P.S. i am a total 3D studio noob.

Edit: figured it out myself ! Thanks anway!

I'm kinda new too so I may be wrong but it looks like you have disconnected verts everywhere. Your edges are breaking away because they are not fastened to each other. Try target welding them and try again. To do that, select a vert and pull it away from your mesh. If you see geometry pop out that's not supposed to be there, then that's a problem vert that needs to be welded back into the main mesh.

I hope this helps

Cool tutorial. I'm currently downloading part 05 modeling 4, but I have a problem with my perspective view. I cant seem to get it the same as in the video. Whenever I zoom in it starts to get slower untill I can't navigate anymore and have to zoom out again. Does anyone know how to fix this? Cause its really annoying to model like this.

I don't know the exact reason it does that. It happens to me too and when it does, I hit the 'zoom extents selected' button. This re-focuses the view on what you have highlighted at the moment. It also resets the zoom scroll thing. You can also use the regular 'zoom extents' button to reset it but that defeats the purpose of zooming in(which is what I assume you are trying to do...). I'm pretty sure there is another way around it but that's what works for me.
