Ctryl -> Alt -> Z allows you to go back as many times as possible (Im guessing your only pressing Ctrl Z).
Very nice tutorial though, we have some quite similiar techniques

Check through your keyboard shortcuts with Control>Shift>Alt>K to make sure that 'Step Backwords' is your undo key. Also Try Control>Alt>K and check that your history states is around twenty. Otherwise I have no clue :P

Big thanks man i did learn some new methods. But how do you display bump maps in 3ds max viewport?

uhh i'm not 100% sure on that. you can use the inbuilt max direct x i think??? but uhh howcome your using bump maps not normal maps?

I thought it was thesame thing just 2 words for it but im using thesame as you use in the video. I cane see it when i render it but not in viewport as you cane.

Great video, thanks for taking the time to create it! Learned a few little tricks there that are gonna come in handy. Shame about part two, and that your computer was fighting you all the way. Great final result!

Great tut, shame about part2. I did learn a good bit from you. I hope to make use of the metal textureing method that you used. I really liked the look of it in the end.
