I voted for Lordgobbo this time round. I felt his work was good quality and subtle, and also liked the fact that he was one of the only ones to have the wood grain follow the curves of the wooden frame.

Also, it was his first ST entry. Well done!

i think if i used a normal map with dents, wood grain. and i spent 90 minutes not 65 i probably could have done alot better.......

Laughing bun got my vote. just love the amount of detail you've put into it.

To bad about the normal map though, it doesn't really make sense in some areas.

hey,

Not being a wood work expert my self so Im not sure about this but I would have thought that the curve in the wood would be carved out so the grain would remain straight rather than following the curve. (?)

just my 2 pence worth on a minor technicality.

You're probably right, my comment is purely from an aesthetic viewpoint. For some reason the textures where the wood stays straight just don't sit well with me.
