Machaca8, here's my crit on yours:

The drawings make a nice touch, but since you duplicated the walls, it makes it look really repetitive. HP did the same thing, but his is safer to c&p. His texture doesn't have that much you can use to make it obvious he duplicated it, but your child drawings are the center of your design. They are the first things your eyes jump to when you look at the picture. Since the two are side by side, it makes it seem really repetitive.

Another point is that detail is key. The scratches and the rust is nice, but the concentration of those details are all in specific areas of the scene. The rest of your wall is bland, and it really offsets the details.

Lastly, IMO, the color of the walls could be tweaked. I would rather like a more brownish or yellowish wall. It would fit the color scheme more.

Kyo, no doubt. Fleistad amazes me too though with a stimple looking but pretty damn nice texture.
[hp], nice too, but personally I hate those tech walls, but it's nice though.

Thanks for the crit! Yea, this wall texture would be one that would be used for mood and character, not for tiling. It just so happened that the way the UVs were wrapped for this model was repeating. If I were to make a tile-able texture for it, it wouldn't have as many defining character spots. So I get what you're saying. Also, the lighter color on the wall was a more conscious choice. I'm not really into making everything look "dark and grungy" just for the sake of it, so I gave it a more "freshly done murder" feel. Although I think the blood should've been darker because it's not that freshly done. Thanks again for the crit! I should've just created a texture that tiles since the wall duplicates instead of trying to stand out by giving the wall unique character spots.

Just so I can be clear for the next one, are we allowed to unwrap and rearrange the UVWs?

Close race between Fleistad and Kyo, for variety is would go for Kyo. Attention to detail and execution I find them both to be on the exact same spot. Although its a simple tile on Fleistad`s part you can see alot of variation in each wall and some nice detailing on the floor.

My vote went to Fleistad and Kyo but I can only vote once so I gave it to Fleistad Great job guys

i wished the votes were more spreaded tho, since like that its not representing quality differences between some of the lesser voted and mine, i actually find the entries of spy, fearofdreaming, [hp], jinx, fleistad, thecorey, gus84 and matrox all great and not worth less, beside the repeating walls ... just imo
