I voted for DrLenny aswell. His entry has the right amount of nice detail. The only thing that bothers me a little is the weird angle it was rendered. I would have put the camera little more straight on. And flipped UV's so the Radiohead posters isn't mirrored.

Very nice entries, good job everyone! I don't know yet who I'm gonna vote, so many good entries here. I hope I could vote all.

One question, does anyone know any good rendering/light setups or tutorials for scenes containing glass like this STC. I use 3ds Max 9. I would like to have glass like Sampson or DrLenny. My glass seems like its covered with dust and doesn't let light through.

I'm not Sampson or Drlenny but I hope it will do.

in the properties for your omni light look for shadows. Change the type to raytraced lighting instead of shadow maps. Raytraced lighting will take things like opacity into account.

Hope it helps.

yes very nice entries and pretty renders. one quick question though how do you get rid off the jaggy lines on your render because my render is way to jaggy. i have been looking all over the properties i just cant find anti-alias.

@ benscorpi0
you doing a render in 3sd max?
you should be able to go into render properties (f10) then renderer tab: anti-aliasing
if using vray go to renderer tab then the anti aliasing filter is under Image Sampler (Antialiasing)

catmull-room, blackman seem to be good IMO

Enough of my rant - congratulations to whoever wins.
Ah, yes, I made that observation too. It seems like everyone wants things to be very dirty. Although imperfections are what drive the illusion of "real" home, I think sometimes it's taken a little too far. Ultimately, what I look for when voting is who put the most thought into their design and executed it as close as possible to that ideal thought. I look for creativity in the texture. I also have a personal affinity towards textures that seemingly change the model's shape without actually messing with any polygons. Makes me warm and fizzy inside when I see that.
