Speed Texturing Forum

Speed Texturing Forum

Rules

A Speed Texturing challenge will be opened when a new thread goes up for a real life piece, references will be provided.

Artists participating:
  • The clock starts ticking from the moment you open your 3D application, and stops when your texture is finished.
This is all for your own benefit, so if you're only 90% done, go ahead and post that. Working under pressure and improving your work flow isn't something that comes without practice

We look forward to getting this show on the road

Suggestions for Speed Texturing themes can be posted here

If you have any questions/suggestions about the STC rules, post them in this thread.

Yes, re-UVing the model is allowed, just no alterations to the geometry.

If we wanted to put some stuff in our portfolio, who do we give credit to for the models?

I'm really not too picky with receiving proper credits or anything, but people won't like it when you don't write it's someone elses model ofc. So, just add "Adam Fransson" or Tiros".. that'd do..

If someone else creates the model however, that'd be specified in the challenge, or hosted by that person.. Like Doylle for example

Cheers!

Yea, I want to make it very clear in my portfolio/website which are my models and which are others' models with my textures. So, for now, I have it stating "Model: Game-Artist.net; Texture: Marcela Roberts" Would that suffice? Or does/should it be more specific?

Aye, as said, I'm not too picky with it, so anything would be fine really

Is this a new rule? I must admit I've been rendering my previous submissions but only because I've got such an antiquated system, it's the only way I can show my normal maps as my graphics card doesn't support Hardware Rendering?
