Here is mine..
unfortunatelly my computer is giving me some hard time with system failures.... so I tried to do this as fast as I could... spent 120 minutes... first I modeled the high mesh inside zbrush, adding some details to the meshm then using max I did my normal and ao maps using the render to texture menu. after that I went to photoshop, and using some skin photo as reference I start to editing my diffuse map. not the best hand, and I confess that I´m not happy with the final result, but I will try to make a better one next time! ![]() btw: I was aiming for a cyberpunk hand... ![]() ![]() Texture Maps |

Hi again,
Managed to finally get enough time to post my entry. Final texture ![]() ![]() Texture Maps ![]() ![]() Zbrush ![]() ![]() Spent 40 odd mins on the zbrush model 65 mins on the diffuse and the final 15 mins on tidyup and speculars. I also created 2 videos, funny thing is took longer to create the videos than it did to do all the texture work, but thought that some of you might be interested to see them. The first video is the zbrush sculpting... Speed Texturing- Hands sculpt | Veoh Video Network I used the Zscripts to create this video and in doing so it has created some errors, so please try to imagine the sculpt without the silly errors that appear(Video been speed up to help keep the file size down) The second video is the Texturing... Speed Texturing- Hand Texture | Veoh Video Network Again in order to keep file size down, I have shown some of the techniques I used but have not shown all 80 mins of my texture creation. Hope you's find it interesting. Cheers Chris |

John Barnard: Sorry I missed your entry, I was in a rush and missed the thumbnails, cause they are alot smaller than the full size pics. I like it, very comando like! Not sure if the normal on the tendons on the wrist are a little strong, but think thats really up to personal preference.

Coridium,
That's amazing work. I'd love to see that process slowed down and narrated. I don't want to be another case of "others always wanting more" but some of the screen was missing and I was having trouble following some of your operations in zbrush. I'm somewhat familiar with the projection master and I had never seen the image lattice warp thing you were doing. Anyways, if you have the time, I'd appreciate. If not, I'd understand. It would be a fantastic tutorial for the site all in all. Really good work and great brief video explanations, ![]() |

Hi all !
There is my first try on speed texturing challenge. I'm inspired by Rukia glove (Bleach anime) to made this texture. No special works for the glove, just a red color and the skull symbol pasted on it. For the skin, I used some shoot of own hand. I have only made the diffuse and specular textures. I'm worked on Photoshop and Maya. My worflow was quite simple : 1- launch photoshop ![]() 2- cut and paste right parts of pics on my texture 3- use a lot of Transform->wrap deformer to adjust 4- use soft eraser and smudge to merge each parts 5- test result on maya and adjust (a lot...) on photoshop 6- redraw nail with a very little brush (white and brown) 7- for specular I duplicate diffuse part of my skin, increase contrast with levels tool (ctrl+L) For the final rendering, I added 2 directionals lights into the scene and I used maya software renderer. In 120 mins, I dont have the time to correct all merge error on boundaries. ![]() |
