Do we have to skin both?

I believe you can choose the one you want, or go ahead and do both

But do I do one in 90 min and then the other in another 90 min, or both in 90 ;p... there's a big difference there, hehe.

one sign 90min, the reason there is two is so you pick to do one or the other.

I started off gathering a few references. It wasn't easy to pull this off since the base model was a bit weird (looks too thick for a road sign) but I decided I was going for the "welcome to random town in the desert" style. At first I thought of parodying the "extraterrestrial highway" signs (nevada desert) but then I decided to go for "welcome to sky valley" which is also the name of an album by desert rock band Kyuss.

I fired up illustrator, made the illustration quickly and then ported it to Photoshop. Now it was pretty hard to define what type of material it was, because of the nature of the model. Was it painted? Printed? Anyways, since I hadn't that much time I decided to simulate a print poster, which was obviously a not very good choice. I didn't have time to make a normal map.

hehehe, awch yea the model. Well tbh, these are typical sings you'll find on the Belgian highway. A man can easely walk underneath it, and they are so tick because in 80% of the cases they have lights inside them. I'll try to texture one of those if i can

yours Looks nice though, don't forget to post your maps too. I also looked for reference when i modeled it, but couldn't find any myself.

Now that I've handed in my dissertation project at school I have some time to have a go at this ^.^ I think i'll try the smaller sign.
