STC #06 - Shields - Vote Closed(Image heavy!) - Page 3

Ya I'm going for Fleistad #2 because it's got a nearly flawless look to it and a killer normal map. The little gaps between the wood beams are even semi-wavy and uneven like real wood, not just straight lines. It's the object I'd want to see representing an item in a game.

Karyuu's wins in concept and diffuse paint. Only reason I can't give it the win is because that green thing in the middle just needs a bit more going on for it to be flawless. Maybe some alpha, or a simulated gem-like clarity with reflected details behind it, and some more glow. It's really awesome though and will probably win regardless due to the superior concept and color. I wonder what the story is behind the concept...wizard's shield perhaps?

Fleistad and Karyuu had best entries, i wish could vote more than once but voted for Karyuu, Good stuff!! i got a long way to go till i can compete with you guys

Voted for Craig Lewis. I liked the simple and effective design. The scratches and dirt on the shield are subtle and neat.

Karyuu got my vote. Amazing detail and a very cool concept. Although there were many other fantastic techniques across the board. Great work everyone
