bookshelf filled with books (low-poly model, so its more of a challenge to texture)

I don't care much what the subject is, but we seriously need an ALL PAINTED speed-texturing competition. It's really really REALLY boring looking at 12 different selections of photo-woods that people got off of Flickr or google image search (with bevel and emboss tossed on for the details).
As for the subject (again, could be anything). Organic would be best for this sort of thing. Metal and man-made structures are boring to texture and usually inspire a lot of bevel/emboss and rust overlays. Let me re-iterate, BEVEL AND EMBOSS + RUST OVERLAYS = NOT INTERESTING. 12 entries all using those same 2 elements is not challenging artistically and will not separate the truly great from the amateur by very much. So lets go over this one last time - ORGANIC ANYTHING HAND PAINTED ONLY - NO PHOTO OVERLAYS I work on a Wii title all day as an enviro artist and I'd like to get back into these competitions with something really special, and no - we're not allowed to use photos ever at work. |

Thanoz: It's true we've yet to used an organic model during my comps.. which has only been two so far actually...
I just thought I'd remind you though, that none of the competitions during the whole STC, including Doylles, has ever said you can't paint your textures.
