In 3DS Max (I downloaded the demo), where would I put the normal map? I have it under bump, but it doesn't change anything in the viewport. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think it does real time renders of normal maps.
Answering my own question, I will export it to Unreal 3 Engine for screenshots. |

If you want see the normal,se the bump map to 100,then in the slot put a Normal Bump, then in the normal slot put the a Bitmap & select the normal.tga ,now in the render you see the normal, but render are not allowed,so download the Xoliul' shader & use it to display the normal in real time in the viewport

I've uploaded the AO map for those that want it, find it in the first post.
Michael, you can preview materials using direct X in max. In your material editor, there's a blue checkered box that says "Display material in viewport" or something similar. If you click and hold on it you'll get a roll down. Select the pink and white box and it will switch to direct x shaders instead and your normal will show up in the viewport. |

It's been a long time since I've participated in one of these, since I've been busy with work, but I couldn't resist a "shot" at (pun intended ) texturing Marcus Aseth's very cool looking Biorifle. The UV's were laid out perfectly, btw. ![]() Lately, I've been playing a lot of Modern Warfare 2 and Bioshock 2, so I wanted to try my luck at blending the two styles on this competition...realistic/sci-fi. Hope you guys like it! ![]() Good luck everyone! |
