Wanted to take this one further with a quick normal and spec, but I was already right up tight against the time limit. Fairly happy with what I got out of it for a hand-painted effort in 90mins, but I'd like to have been able to take another pass at it with some photo overlays just to push the detail and surface textures some more.
Re-unwrapped it to a 2:1 ratio texture, too. I'll have the video up tomorrow, it's exporting at the moment - I should already have been in bed an hour ago :P *edit: VIDEO HERE ![]() ![]() Btw, Zer0.BE, nice first attempt. I like the touch with the falling off strip :P What's on the back of the billboard, though? I don't see any texture space for it... Svelle; Not too bad but check your normal map! You've got normal maps in there for surface detail that shouldn't have any. Those signs are behind glass, but on your normal map, you've given the glass the normal map as if the signs were on top of it, but with the cracked glass on top of that again. It should really just be flat with cracks. Last edited by Talon; 21-01-2008 at 10:15 PM. |

![]() Render2 Maps Now, there's a story attached to this submission ![]() I was talking with Requiem yesterday, while he was working on his billboard. He suggested that he'd pick a cool movie for my billboard. I was like "sure dude, if i can please you with that". And then he picked "Glitter" (sigh). I have absolutely no idea what the film is about, but requiem clearly does according to our conversation. So, with the theme set, it was time to start texturing. The first version i made was rubbish, so i started over again from scratch. Because, honestly, i realy didn't want to make a semi-cool submission, you know. This was Requiems movie, so i wanted the texture to be perfect... Second texture was alot better than the first one, and suitable for a submission. So, Requiem, this submission is dedicated to you man! And the cool thing of this all is, the text above does not contain a single lie. ![]() peace! ![]() Last edited by doylle; 22-01-2008 at 07:04 AM. |
