With this still being a relatively new comp, here is a few answers to some questions you may be thinking about (same as the previous speed sculpting comp):
  • Finding reference does NOT count towards the modelling/sculpting time.
  • You may create a basic base mesh, however this will count towards your modelling time.
  • You can use Zsphere.
  • You may use any program to do the modelling and/or sculpting.
  • You may do multiple entries if you want. However for the voting, each sculpt/model will be entered separately, they will NOT be added together.
  • You may use as many subtools as you wish (or the equivalent)

If I think of more I'll add them.

Hello SkwigglesWorth, I've a question for you: is the realistic modeling part of the guidelines, or can we consider doing it through a cartoon way, or caricature, etc?

I have no objections to doing it in a different style like a cartoon style or caricature. So yes you can.
However with it being a vote from other forum members, I don't know how they will vote and whether will prefer realistic or caricature style, so please bear this in mind.

...we are not allowed to use existing base meshes (e.g. the Zbrush head), are we?!

Unfortunatly no you can't do this.
You can create a base mesh in a 3D package and then import it into ZBrush, but this does count towards the time limit of the 7 hours.

I'm extending the deadline to Saturday the 29th of December.

This is just to have a competition running partially over the christmas period, so if any body find any free time, then they can join if they wish.

NOTE: You can do multiple entries if you chose too.

Khal Drogo Bust

I worked on this for about 5 hours and a half, then textured for the rest.... as you can see I ran out of time (still missing textures).

I'm going to put it on the shelf and finish it some other time. (seattachmentnt)

verafx81: Hi, unfortunately this is a sculpting only and you can not have textures.
If you know how long you spent textureing you may take this time away from your total and use that time for some more sculpting, (from what I've read from your post that would be 1.30 hours).

Seems to be a recurring Game of Thrones theme going on here Spent too much time on the decorations XO Looking forward to seeing more entries!
