![]() Started out by making a plane, extruded it down to make the top shelf of the stove, then I made another plane underneath extuded that on down to make the bottom half, chamfered the edges on the bottom half, made a sphere, attached it to the top plane, then deleted the uneeded portions, to make the dip in the plane, then used that, applied a shell, chamfered the edges applied a turbosmooth, made a renderable line turbo smoothed that...And I should be just about done...*phew* |

Hmm, I wish I could've come up with some thing more exciting, but alas, I'll just pretend like this is a bad*ss hand mixer that can whip up some miracle pancakes!!
Entry: ![]() Workflow: Started with a happy little rectangular primitive, just sitting there. Then, I used the slice plane to give me more happy little vertices and happy little edges. Then I extruded the devil our of some polygons. I created one beater from a happy little cylinder and the bottom from a happy little rectangular primitive. Then I gave it a friend (because we all need friends) by cloning it. Lastly, I added MeshSmooth (that'll be our little secret). |

Here is a mixer thing
![]() ![]() It is 76226 polys It originaly started with a box and a few extrudes and insits followed by extruding the actuall mixer that sticks out of the end. The cable part you stick into the socket is just extruded out of the end of the mixer. |

Chipmunk - its a bit hard to get a sense of the knife's shape and critique it as you don't have a render without the wireframe. Perhaps there's still time to make one?
Looks pretty good, I can see a problem at the very end of the base of the knife, where multiple edges loops come together to form an oval shape I think? You should probably look into linking up your edges loops a bit better there, and definitely avoid polygons with more than 4 sides. Also, its hard to see, but it looks as if the place where the knife handle starts to meet the blade needs a bit of tidying up, where the handle bevel stops suddenly. And to keep your quads neat on the knife blade, I'd even out that one poly loop that goes diagonally (as opposed to all the 90 degree edges loops near it) Otherwise, looking good, no wasted polygons that I can see ![]() (edit): Hope I didn't come off as a know-it-all....I'm only offering my opinion, nothing else! I have no idea how to critique people's work.. Last edited by dbsmith; 30-09-2008 at 03:19 PM. |
