took 100 minutes. Just thought I'd post though. The concept behind this is to save the game by preserving your head. For that you have to cut your head into a cooler. Very jolly eh?
Cooler was made from a box, with two wings made from cut cylinders. The box grip is essentially extruded from that cylinder. Ice cubes are... cubes! the axe was something i rushed into the scene in the last 5 minutes. A cylinder and a messed up box. the ice bottles are boxes with some detail, and a cylindrical cap. Used blender, which explains the friggen huge amount of time it took. First real model in blender ![]() Triangle count: 868 faces. I don't know how to get a triangle count in blender yet. Love the bathroom idea ![]() Last edited by fabiodan; 16-08-2008 at 11:06 AM. |

Hallelujah! Another soul saved!
Inspired by the saving system in GTA 2, where you had to go into a church and make a donation in order save your progress... or erm, your soul. ![]() ![]() Very simple to model this object, started off with a simple box and created the shape I wanted. Majority of the finer details where added on top of the actual box model mainly splines, like the swirly patterns on the front and the flowery patterns at the bottom sides. No donation.... no salvation ![]() Last edited by Ibrahim; 16-08-2008 at 02:04 PM. |

![]() Here is my entry. Thinking of what is important in saving a game is the time and date. As you can see you wont lose track of your saving data with this easy to use sand glass. I started with manipulating a sphere to form a glass with some extra extrudes and deletion. Simply make a head and a base and place antique shaped sticks between them. Dont ask me how to reset one of the timers. I mean. Its still a game right? ![]() Last edited by Therkiller; 17-08-2008 at 10:13 AM. |

I like Ibrahim post because this is kind of similar to mine but better made + there is a very quikly understandable message what is for me the main property of a save point.
The idea of the church is very good: It reminds me "Bad Lieutnant" where the nasty Harvey Keitel frequent a church to get his sins forgiven. I also think of " Once Upon a time in America" where the place to hide the big money is a baggage checkroom ( i imagine this was use in many movies). The idea behind that is that save point would be a safe and isolated place with a peacfull mood. Why not a confessional by the way? Great i found many ideas after the end of the competition!!! ![]()
