Ok... so its been a while since I busted out the old max tools, but heres my go.
![]() Its the Roman Pantheon! 996 tri's @ ~78 minutos As you can tell, I kinda ran out of tri's so I had to end up cutting a few columns and optimized a few areas. Still, I like it. Its even got an interior! (its a box. :P) ![]() Process was: Large # sided Cylinder, beveled top for dome + oculus, extruded front that was made planar, duplicated tri-angle shaped cylinders for ridges around dome center, front planes sliced for porch extrusion, collums made from 5 sided, 3 poly tall cylinders. It was fun. Last edited by Stuntman; 07-31-2008 at 10:09 AM. |

I didn't realize that someone already did this one until about 5mins ago... Sorry Sisp. :'(
Temple Of Heaven I started this by first making the base platform for the massive building. Quite simple, just a little extrude here, a little symmetry there to save my time. Afterwards it was deciding on how many sides it should be to be functional and then bevel, bevel, bevel! The knob on the top was fun, I wasn't sure how much detail I should put into it or not but I figured I could always clean it up later if I had to. (Thankfully, It worked out and I didn't even have to bother with it once it was made.) Now that I had a good idea on my poly count, I looped the edges of the roof and chamfered them out. After that I took the insides of the roof, where it meets the building, and chambered/extruded those out. Then I made the sign/flag thingy on the top (at the end I gave it a frame) and when I started this I really wanted to create the open doorways. Thankfully I had enough room to make the doorways and an interior! Huzzah! ![]() Now I really want to texture it...hmmm. Reference Image: ![]() Final: ![]() Wireframe |

Too hot to sleep so decided to make another one.
Started on Sydney opera house but gave up. This one was fairly simple, but I guess I cheated because I didn't include the "endpoints" (And all the thin wires :P), hard to find photos of those. Anyway here it is: ![]() ![]() Last edited by kaizertech; 07-30-2008 at 09:39 PM. |
