I just wanted to note, that header of 'robots' can cover a lot of things, if you are unsure about what you have in mind, feel free to ask.

here is my first entry:

just about everything was made from cylinders except for the bottom section and the feet. the bottom section is such an odd shape so i decided to use springs so i didn't waste too much time trying to get it to look right. the feet are just simple boxes with smaller boxes to stand in for the tracks. the arms are cylinders with the bend modifer applied and then i extruded edges to mimic the look from my reference image. the main body is a cylinder that i extruded and beveled and the added the symmetry modifer.

Pretty much all of this was just extruding a box, but looking back I think it would've been a lot easier if I had done the legs seperate and used some cylinders in there too. The two little guns were the only seperate objects, but I think it turned out pretty decent, I'll hopefully do a second entry in the next day or two.

I got bored and decided to do another one now =]

This one was a lot easier for me because I didn't try and use the same object for the whole thing. The guns were made from boxes and cylinder, the main body and the feet were boxes, the little hoses on the back i used a bend modifier on a cylinder and extruded the edges and for the waist section i extruded the edges on a cylinder. I'm definately really happy on how it turned out.

For the arms I mostly used boxes and moved the verts accordingly. The middle sections between the arms were just cylinders that I beveled at certain points in the middle. Similarly, the head sections were cylinders and the head was a box. Rotated the head a bit and that's mostly it.

Here is my bot.

The workflow is largely based around bevel and extruding on a polygon level. Other than that its mostly messing with individual vertecies to achieve some of the angular looks.
The model is largly made up from cylinders and boxes modified as explained above.
Unfortunatly I didnt have time to make the facial features.

Bender - Cobalt's Entry

I first found a reference image (here and here), and then began with primitives. i started with the body as a cylinder, and extruded up for the head and antenna. the eye extruded part was separate, and then i used boolean to attach it to the head. for the mouth, i just connected verts in a way i liked, and then deleted the faces, and extruded in. for the "teeth", i duplicated the faces for the inside of the mouth, chamfered the edges, deleted the main faces(keeping the chamfered faces), and extruded back. the arms and legs are just extruded cylinders, and i used 2 bend modifiers to get them to bend down like that.
