I agree. For small details like the belts, a normal should do it. But it's not allowed in the competition But thanks for the comment!!!

Ok heres a pari of boots.

I started this one with 4 boxes to build up the main shape, I merged them and started adding edges. Extruded the edges for the top of the boot and used some append to polygon to close some holes. There is a plane where with alpha where the lases should be.

So i made this shoes. Inspired by some puma shoes i saw at the site i posted earlier. Its lowpoly. 258 tris.
Hum.. could go lower if added to a char with some pants. then i could cut some tris.
i didnt make it in time. execed the time i think. i recorded the session. but camtasia is still merging the files. so i dont know the exact time. i just used the extrude edged method.
So. im gonna go and probablly texture this later on. since i uved the shoes.
btw. could be a cool idea for a speed texturing. skin a shoe. i can give mine if that idea is good enough.

Das Boot

I first modeled the boots using a box and creating the toe shape and extruding it upwards. Then I created the lips by making a shape of the tongue and copying it. I used ffd to put them into place. I then created the leather straps by using a tube and manipulated the verts. I then used another tube to create the buckles. And then my egg timer went DING!
12220 Triangles in 60 minutes

Hope you like

Smile My sandals

50min
2048 faces per sandal

Started with a box. moved some verts around to basic shape. Hinged out 2 faces from between base and sole for the leather strap. extruded them up. Mirrored them to the other side. Bridged between either side of the leather straps with 4-5 segments. Moved those segments to create straps. Finally used an FFD 4x4x4 modifier to get a more organic shape for the whole thing.

My first go..not sure how to remove all those polys on the soul quite yet..but was fun..

cam out looking like my sandal anyway..hehe..

Yes it was extended. people who made something were not able to submit it for two days, so they had the chance today. Got to close it now though. voting time!
