Nysuatro and Pacer thanks
Really great entries guys.
Rawk777, really great model, love it.
fabiodan, that made me laugh Really great idea.
Kaskad that does look a little simple... good you learned something though I'm sure you'll do a lot better next time.
Slip I think I like you're first entry more. The second done doesn't seem to give the impression of a clock tower.
Feld nice entry. You managed to add a lot of detail in the middle there, too bad the top and bottom part are so simple. Overall is a good model
uber2002 great interior I have to agree with Pacer, the outside is very simple... I guess that's where you had to drop the detail due to the lack of time
Stuntman great entry. I always loved models like this one.
Tiros you changed your name Great entries... they feel massive and the detail on the is really impressive.
doylle good mode but I know you can do a lot better Last time you really gave all the people a scare with your entry.
maddash feels a little scary... Looks like something that is waiting for someone to go under it so it can drop the clock
Nysuatro.. a bit simple and not what would call a clock tower but a good start
Hope I didn't miss someone I'll be sure to comment on all the entries when the voting starts
I noticed a few new people to the SMC Welcome!

Yeah, I completely agree. I'm almost certainly going to make another one today.

Plan everything before you start... even try out some shapes to see if you find a way to make something quicker. I found that you can model A LOT faster if you know exactly what you need to do and never stop to think, decide or look for a tool. I always surprise myself when I do this

That's so true, remember I told you I did my pen knife mode twice? First time it didnt work out at all.. second time, I though about what I did wrong.. and then just went along, and it came out nicely

This is my second Speed Modeling Competition, I know the mesh isn't good but in 60 minutes I can't, and also I've had problems with the hand, I'm not very agreed with the image, maybe with a few minutes more... The numbers of polygons is down, 4690, it tooks me 60 minutes, well, really 59 minutes, but I cut it, because I'd wished make it much more complex. At begin, I went use zbrush but I'm not good skills yet, so I've used 3ds Max
Well see you in next.

Sorry for my english.

Hm i imagined it to look better, but alas.
(the wire won't be of much help, though i'm kind of proud of the polycount).

How i made it (3dsmax):
I used splines to define the bevel of the stylish lofts, and used the "Sweep" modifier to get it to follow a certain path.
The thick parts above and below the loft are extrusions of the path shape for the loft.
The pillars were made with a spline to define the shape, then a "Lathe" modifier to make it cylindrical. The indents were just made with a simple extrude in Editable Poly mode.
Thats about it.

Wow guys!!
I was just about starting my model but those last 2 entries raised the bar a lot. so i´ll probably end up looking for new reference...

Vamediah: awesome model!
But that rendertime is just ridiculous imo

chris89: nice model! i tend to always forget about using splines, so thanks for that reminder.

Another hand Sweet idea but the anatomy of the hand is a little strange Dr.Ido.
Vamediah nice entry. The image is a little blurry though... and it hides the details. Love the lighting Is that a bell in the tower?
chris89 the amount of detail you put it in that model is incredible. When I saw the render and the polycount I though you were kidding but the detail on the shaded model can be seen. Great clock tower... too bad the clock is so small... you need to get really close to see it
