#15 - July 7 - July 15 - Casino Games
Speed Modeling Competition Rules:
- You have 60 minutes to complete the piece. This is all for your own benefit, so if you're only 80% done when the 60 minutes come up, go ahead and post that. - You must submit a 800x600 [or 600x800] image that contains a shaded model and a wire model preferably rendered with GI. For a tutorial about GI/clay renders go here: Multi-Platform Clay Wip Renders Use one of the 2 templates to submit your final entry: - You must give us details on how you modeled it - Textures are not allowed in the Speed Modeling Competition - Multiple entries are allowed. For a more detailed list of rules read here: http://www.game-artist.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1805 Theme: Casino Games ![]() Refs: Casino game - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

![]() Name: Vamediah Entry Name: Row-O-Slots Triangles: 156876 Modeling Time: 59 minutes Renderer: Maxwell 1.5 (40 minutes) Creation Details: The scene consists of 5 different models, slot machine, Jackpot slot machine, jackpot sign, chair and Cups. the basic slot machine was created with boxes for the basic shape and then i used "Create Polygon Tool" for the rounded frames, and also the base for the buttons. the the cylinders that spin around are basic 16 faced cylinders. The coin tub is created from an extruded box and held up by basic boxes. The jackpot slot machine is the same, its just lower and has a smaller top-display, the chairs in front of it are also shortened. the chairs are made from cylinders, doughnuts and pipes ![]() Jackpot Sign is an extruded box, text tool for '$' (arial), spheres for lights and 12 faced cylinders for smaller text display lights. i don't know what else to say so that will be it ![]() Wireframe: ![]() |

im not that happy with the render, but here we go:
the chips are cylinders with cap segments and spline text (to mesh) at the top. thats the reason for the high (109.000) tri count ![]() cheers |

It's nice... but I agree about the render... All those shadows are very strange. You can spend as much time with the render as you want... so make an update it you have some extra time

Sometimes I have a hard time finding something fun... but it's good to know I did a good job so far. Btw... sorry I didn't use your script but as I said... I don't really like depending on too many things to do my work... especially if it's not something really complicated.Quote:

Blackjack Table
It's been awhile since I've had the time to do one of these...
I started with a cylinder that I sliced in half. I used boolean to put the poker chip tray in. The chips in the tray I left as one long cylinder because I can't imagine those being separate in an actual game; that saved a lot of polys. I had some time left at the end but I couldn't think of anything else the scene needed. Enjoy ![]() Wire frame ![]()
