This was briefly mentioned in the latest SMC thread, but I gues we should've made a more official statement at the time. Andrei decided to leave Game-Artist.net as a staff member. Of course we hope to still see him and his work on ga.net, but he'll no longer lead the SMC unfortunately...

i had some ideas for the SMC's:
- pick something in your room and model it - guitar - golf cart (kinda random, heh) also, the winners gallery needs to be updated!

A speed modeling contest using the honor system just doesnt work. Timing yourself just means you had a good day at modeling, it doesnt prove much to anyone else, it doesnt really give bragging rights. A real speed modeling contest will have a starting time announced and a theme or reference pics provided at the start, all entrys have to be emailed in by the deadline. Thats what makes a speed modeling contest that people will take notice of.
