I was like........ whys my post in here. but it stands to reason
![]() As for the torture thing. As much as you dont like what you see Andrei, thats life im afriad, and a lot (if not most games) will take those very ideas/ideology that you speak of, and create games with them. The difference is, they will slap a 18 certificate on it, and in reality kids are going to be playing them anyway. I have a friend (I am 28, and he is 22, but his youngest brother is 10, and he is.......welll lets say knowledgeable in the ways of Resident evil and such, in such a time back wayyy ago I was playing Res Veronica on the ps2, and kept getting killed by the groomer in the plane. he told me how to kill it. Hell HE told me Freddy Kruger was weak!!( 1984 was the release, I was born in 1979, so do the math.... ) Nightmare on elm street scared the beejeezus out of me, (Maybe because Glenn (Jhonny Depp at his youngest)...gets killed by the bed chopping him up and spitting him up across the celing....guess what my name is.....Glenn )Sorry for the side track but, google has adult filters. And with the level of violence in games, as little as a few blood spurts in your generic FPS games, it's nothing people have not seen before. I see where you are coming from andrei, and I respect that. but this is a game art community. Have you played "Suffering" "The Ties that bind"?(PS2), thats prolly the most disturbing game I have ever played (Pfft, what Manhunt?!? that game surpasses it for things that should not be shown ).Anyway I apologise for the side track, but most people on this forum are adults (or young people getting into the industry, and on that token should be adult enough to understand the generic violent video games, or they will be in for one hell of a shock , and if the people who are not adults, have probably seen worse films than the art this site has to offer. No dis-respect to anyone at any level was meant. Unfortunatly there is a very anal thing going on in Britain about viloent video games and such, when most of the time, the troubled kids are doing what they do, and their parents are sat having drinks and barbeques instead of watching thier kids as they should be doing, then blaming thier failure on violent video games. This I see daily........ |

Talon: i mean that saying "non-violent torture devices" is very contradictory to itself
, thus sort of nullifying the statement, i think if there should be torture devices, there should be no restrictions ![]() ragupasta: you make some good points, in the end, it would be nice to have a buffer compeition that tackles that part of videogaming ![]() Last edited by Vamediah; 11-03-2007 at 12:17 AM. |

Speed Texturing Rules & Direction
Dude: On Speed Texture competitions, we have 120 mins to make all or we can spend all the time we need in the model and normalmap and later 120 mins for texture (diffuse, normal, spc, etc)?

Hey, not sure if this has been posted before but can you import your model into mudbox and do some sculpting?

hmm, the rules don't realy say that you can't use a sculpting package (yet
), but please stick with the traditional modeling packages. We don't want to give users with sculpting skills to much advantages... ![]()
