Awesome! I am curious to see how people will get creative with this one.

can we paint the normal maps in photoshop/zbrush? or do you just want this to be highpoly modeling?

Yes, you are allowed to create the normal map however you want.

this seems like an interesting challenge. ive had a fence idea that i saw in a movie that ive been wanting to tackle for a while, maybe this could be a chance.

Regarding that texture limit...1k each or 1k total?

The three variations can be any kind of variation you want, so feel free to stretch your imagination Keep in mind, that the variations should still fit together seamlessly. Exactly how they fit together, is up to you.

Each variation is allowed a limit up to (or equivalent to) 1024x1024.

This competition only involves three pieces. If you like, you may choose to make four, then submit your three favorites Keep in mind though, your "favorites" would be the only ones allowed to be used in your (optional) modular layout.
