Shock Blunderbus WIP

Well I find out late about this Comp so here's my WIP I am working on Some details on Zbrush, I don't think I will finish for the dead line so at least it worked as a really good exercise, looking forward to see the winning model, Great models and very creative everyone!

Here is my final entry. I did a high-poly model and was able to get the normal maps working in Unreal Editor.

Here is my final entry, only wish I had more time to do normalmaps with details.
This has been a really good exercise for a rookie like myself.
Really nice entrys from other members.
Its fun to see others creativity on this task

Nice one konraden

I have only a hint,when you unwrap if you have similar pieces (like all thos small piecec with a 8 shape or the blades) some times is better to overlap them in the unwrap,less work when texturing

Love the crazy designs, you guys!

Tesla's Blunderbuss - 5995 Tris

Ok, so here is what I can show off. I spent too much time doing the high poly and didn't finish the UVs first, like a smart guy would. Soooo I guess I'm eliminated The UVs (as of now) are done, but not arranged. Because of my ill-advised workflow, I could not finish. Next time I'm going to do the high poly first, like many other artists do.




*Edit - The steam generators are missing in the low poly screencaps. I rushed to the library (no internet at home), and didnt notice them missing until it was too late. Sorry, I'll show it when I finish and upload the last set of updates.*

Oh well. I learned alot, and that's what these competitions are all about, right?

I won't be putting the voting page together until I get home from work in about 15hrs so if you have any last minute tweaks, such as finishing your uvs, adding in a steam tank on the lowpoly version, then take this opportunity to do them. Since it's the first competition I'll be somewhat flexible with the deadline, let's say the publisher moved a deadline forward (although it is very unlikely this would happen IRL ). The more finished assets we have the better so use what little time is left wisely.

Decided to finish and get a submission up in hopes that the deadline would be flexible. Looks like that was a good idea

Now that I know that I have time to bake the normal map, I'd like to get that done. Since I won't have a way to upload it until tmrw afternoon, It won't count for the submission.

I'm really itching to get the embellishments and wood grain on so I'll upload the baked version to my WIP thread. Hope you like
