Hi, first time in here.
The model is inspired in a weapon of RF Online.
I run out of time and canīt make some details, but is ok.
GL for everyone.

Now, I don't decide the rules or which submissions gets approved/disqualified for the SMC's, as I only handle the STC's. But if it were my area of responsibility, I wouldn't have let these through.
I don't disagree with you there, but "Melee Weapon" is somewhat vague. Just about anything can be used as a melee weapon.

It's no big deal to me I just don't want to be breaking the rules.

Using any of Zbrush's Matcaps is fine. So long as you don't have a texture applied.

Not really, a weapon is a weapon, in other words, something created/designed to kill and/or harm.

Anything can be used as a weapon, but it doesn't mean it actually is one. If you pick up a telephone and smash it into someones head, it'd have been used as a melee weapon, but it's still just a phone.

Things that were not created by man or anything else other than nature is kind of on the verge of being allowed imo, depending on what the object is. But something designed for another purpouse of being used as a weapon is not a weapon.

You can take parts from other creations and objects though, and create your own weapon out of it, that way it'd have been designed as a weapon.

I know that I modeled a crowbar myself which is kinda silly, but I'd say certain tools shouldn't be excluded from the theme.

Thanks for clearing that up Craig. I was getting a little nervous.

To be honest, I think i probably was a bit vague by just saying melee weapon, because, as you say, it really could be anything. However, people generally seem to have the right idea with their entries.
