#8 - May 19 - May 27 - Funfair Ride

Speed Modeling Competition Rules:

- You have 90 minutes to complete the piece. This is all for your own benefit, so if you're only 80% done when the 90 minutes come up, go ahead and post that.
- You must submit a 800x600 [or 600x800] image that contains a shaded model and a wire model preferably rendered with GI. For a tutorial about GI/clay renders for Max/Maya go here: Multi-Platform Clay Wip Renders

Add the following information on your entry image:
  • Your Name
  • Entry Name
  • Modeling Time
  • Triangle Count
- You must give us details on how you modeled it
- Textures are not allowed in the Speed Modeling Competition
- Multiple entries are not allowed.

For a more detailed list of rules read here:

Here I go again

I've spent only 50 minutes on it because I wanted to make it a 60min competition but I realized that some rides may be a little more complex. I hope you will use the extra 30min wisely for this competition I think I could have spent some more time and make some kind of base... it looks a little strange now without one

As usual, you can see how I modeled it here:

Please don't go crazy with your entry. A carousel with horses or a roller coaster are fun but might take a little longer to model, so think about that before you start.
The links in the refs are there to help a little not to show you what to do.
Everything that you can see in a Funfair/Amusement Park goes... from little toys to... big toys.
Just have fun

PS: The rules changed a little so be sure to read them (if you somehow missed the red font )

Looks great andrei

Heres mine took longer than i hoped due to 2 failed attempts at making the frame so its 90 min i wanted to add more detail but ran out of time.
I also wanted to make the frame with pipes, again failed and had to rush it result crappy smoothing.

So not a good entry but one none the less.

Thanks guys.
tkaza, it's funny. I like the little wheel you have there. The frames that hold it on the ground look a little rough... Guess it's really annoying when you're in a hurry and you don't have a lot of time Did you use a ref for this? Can we see it?

Yer its rough i wasn't really in the mood to model, rough day rough model...
No ref was used, which makes the model seem a bit not right.
Thanks any way andrei

The ship, seats and frame were all made from box extrusion, i used a Symmetry mod on the frame to save time.
To make the ship bend i used the bend mod at ~20-30%
The rest are cylinder primitives.

None of the less, both entries are looking nice, allthough with andrei's I get the feeling it'll tip over and kill all the poor children in it when it starts spinning around

Good model tkaza, but remember the rules......800x600, and there is no tri information, nor is there an entry name.

Where's the fun if you're not risking your like?
