Funfair Ride
This is nowhere near as detailed as it could be but i was going for a low poly count when I did this as well. Pretty much extruded everything and did some basic vertex editing too.

hi, here's my entry...
the modeling process was pretty simple, i just made a spline, actual 2 and then i used loft... after that i created a cylinder and transformed the cylinder into a car thing ! with 4 thing that are "inside" the "road"... after that made the path constraint for the car thing... got at frame 69/500 ( i think ) and made the render settings...for the wireframe i used a material ( i didn't duplicated the model then assigned a wireframe mat) i made a mat with faced max and the diffuse was the map for the wireframe... that's all i think ... another thing that thing is really really really tall ... cya... me wanna go to sleep now ...and nice models people...nice work to all of you... now I'm done.

Welcome to the competition guys.
Putz, nice model. It's simple and clean. The mechanism on the top could have used some more work but the main part (seats and the part that connects them) looks very good. RappyBMX nice presentation The camera angle is just perfect, feels like you're there. The seats are very simple though and they don't feel like something that would belong there, looks more like a chair that you'll fly out with at the first bump/turn. That thing in the left on looks like a side view... what's suppose to be at the end of this thing? A pool of water?

# Entry Name: Ferris Wheel # Modeling Time: 75min # Triangle Count: 34,762(polys) I started making the pilars, made a box, rotated it 45o and then cloned it and mirrored it, than made a pattern and copied the pattern to make the frame for the pilars then made the blocks for the pilars, then titled it and copied it 4 times then made the center axis with a simple cylinder and excruded the end a bit to get the round effect then made a box as pilar and copied it 17times while rotating each piece 20o, then i scaled the last face to make it taper a bit then made a tube as outer ring, then copied the ring as inner ring and for the other pilars i made a face on the first pilars at the side and excruded the pilars out, then cloned them and scaled them down to fit the inner ring the cariage exist out of the top, witch is a cone, i added segments and eddited it with soft select to get the smooth cloth effect then at the bottom i excruded each face scaling it down per excrude to get the flags the cariage it self i a champfer box, then edited it as for the stair part, those are standart max stairs and the railings are mostly hand made thats basicly how i modeled it note: this is a fast render, final render will come soon ![]() ![]() btw, how do you make the wire rendeR? |

well for the seats i wanted to make i something to keep them on the floor but to allow them to move
and not to fly off (didn't have time to do that )!!! and at the and of the track it's an wall ) if in the "car" is someone father the "car" will go into the wall...me evil )...soo do you wanna buy a ticket and give it a go ? (hope you are real skinny so you won't hit the wall :P )... o and in the left side of the render is another render...
