My entry: a waltzer ride.

Edit: I just realized I had to say how I modelled it, so here goes:

First I made one of the seat thingies-
# Added a cylinder
#Cut some stuff out of it (loop cut, delete etc.) to give it the opening and stuff.
#cut some loops in it and filled them to make a seat.
#tweaked verts to get the shape right.
#made the base of the handle bar thing from a bevelled square, a cube, and a cylinder.
#made the handlebar out of an extruded circle.

Then I made the bit the car things go on, by
#adding a 12 sided circle, extruding (individual) faces etc., then
#used proportional edit to get the whole wavy thing going on.

The base was really just a continuation of that., with loops cut out to extrude the stairs from.
The roof was a circle, extruded to give the right shape, quite basic there.
The text was put on with a curve to get it to fit to the shape of the roof
The fencing was made with curves.
The kiosk bit is just a 6 sided circle with holes cut in for windows/door etc.
The lightbulbs that are all over it are a uvsphere (extruded a bit) and a simple cube.

I think that's everything....

@tigger
Sweet. I love what you've done with it. The text and light bulbs are really making it special. The only thing that looks a little strange is the fact that everything looks like it's one peace. I never tried one of those but it looks like the thing in the middle rotates. Right now it is connected to everything... so everything would rotate, but I wouldn't consider this something important... and I also could be wrong

@Feld
I was waiting for someone to make something like this. Only the car look detailed, looks like you spent much more time on those. Can you give us a close up to a car to see it better?

My Competition Entry - Coconut Shy

Ok, this is my first ever attemped at making something in 3d, used 3dsmax, took 30mins, and i think it looks terrible, but hey, practise makes perfect.

Oh, and does anyone know of any good tutorials to teach me how to model?

Welcome to the competition GrizzlyGames. Good tutorials are in the help files. I'd say that first you need to understand the tools then practice using them until you're good
I've been recording some videos from those speed modeling comps. Check them out here: http://www.andrei313.com/makingof/
We have a good tutorials section... and as far as other sites go I'd say that www.3dtotal.com has a very nice collection of tutorials for beginners. You can also check out www.evermotion.org

Those look very good, and comfortable There's even an exhaust there, cool. I believe that this view looks better then your first one. It shows better where you've been putting your effort.
