Good-old-conflict-solving baseball bat here:

EDIT:

I tried to model a sort of tape in the lower part of the bat but I failed miserably with a boolean of a cylinder and helix. The geometry was a real mess. Anyone got a better idea how to model the tape as can be seen here.

Try like this: make a helix and a ractangle, than turn the ractangle into a editable spline and use filet to smooth the corners. Than use loft (helix is the path, and ractangle is the shape), you'll have to rotate the shape a bit untill you get the right look; and you have to deselect the contour option in the loft meny! At the end and add a shell modifier on top with 0 tickness amount. Don't forget to increase turns amount in the helix options.

hope i helped

I gotta say, I'm quite suprised none did this one yet!

So, after having an artists block and longing for creating things again, I went ahead and did a second entry:

Ohhh yeah, this is a speed run I can get in on. I plan on making two, but one wont look good or even be thought as a weapon without the blood splatter... oh wait, I has a idea!

Just getting back into modeling again. Thought that doing these challenges would help me get back into the swing of things. Crits welcome.

Ok so here is my first entree. I took a look at this thread and first thing i thought of was blunt force murder with the mac laptop i own, but without blood its just a mac, so i took nearly all my time just making blood and the apple logo, non of this is textured.

A pencil, a spoon, a carkey and a laptop? Might aswell go ahead and model a car as a melee weapon for the hulk. Really now guys, as Dennis said earlier I think you might want to take the theme more seriously.

Now, I don't decide the rules or which submissions gets approved/disqualified for the SMC's, as I only handle the STC's. But if it were my area of responsibility, I wouldn't have let these through.
