Cloverfield Monster concept for my lighting class. I could use some criticism especially on the texture and lighting.

I dunno who the artist is that drew it but here is the original concept art
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...field3flat.jpg

This is a high poly model rendered in mental ray with a SSSfastskin shader. I intented to stray from the concept art a little bit, but I think I strayed too much.

I think ill probably start this guy over from scratch and make a high and low poly as well as a new texture. Dunno when ill do this but i liked this concept too much to settle with this result.

Sweet. The base of the tail at the hips looks a lot thicker in the concept art.

Walther P99, first game model. Still a bit of a WIP but im gonna put it down for awhile and do some more stuff:

Running into trouble creating some depth map shadows in maya to give this scene a little bit of atmosphere. Shadows look like pixilated garbage and im not too sure why..

Wow dieone, you really have some great texturing skills. Did you do any special tutorials, or was it 'bit of this, bit of that'? Like the boot -are you gonna texture it?

Keep up the good work!

Thanks zipel, I actually just started really focusing on texturing. I watched a bit of Eat 3d's next gen texturing techniques, racer's metal crate tutorial, stormys glock tutorial and thats about it. A lot of it was me messing around with photoshop for awhile and previewing shaders on simple objects

The boot was actually the start of a character i'm going to attempt to build for fun, I just got wayyyy too carried away with it I'll probly end up using this boot for another guy, maybe something more spacey and sci-fi. Im gonna redo it for him though:
