Emperors Teeth's Sketchbook
Hi there
.I never seem to post my work on here... mainly cause I have no access to Maya outside of work and there's only so much time I can stay late doing my own stuff before there's trouble waiting for me at home. So I decided to motivate myself into finding more time by starting a sketchbook. I'll have to leave out the interesting stuff as it's all work related, but I set myself mini exercises to practice. I'll start with one of those... Task: Model a house spider and unwrap for texturing. Poly-limit: 400 faces / 800 tris Time limit: 90 mins Polycount: 400 faces / 742 tris Time taken: 60 mins modelling, 25 mins unwrap ![]() ![]() I'm not likely to texture it. It was just an exercise in speed. |

okay, so much for regular 3d work.
I'm acknowledging my weakness in the area of photoshop painting, so as an exercise I'm going to do a series of speed paints from reference (not paint overs). Here's the first: Standing Stones - 1 hr ![]() From this reference ![]() Okay, I know it's not perfect but that's kinda the point of doing them lol! In particular there's some slight discreprency in sharpness and positioning of the tall stone in the middle. I'm happy with it though as it is my first paint in photoshop in an age. |
