hey everybody! my name is matthew. i am currently studying to work in the game industry as a model/texture artist. i have just recently started getting into building game specific assets, so i will be posting progressively more and more pieces as i develop in skill. most of my work is character geared, so a lot of it will be from zbrush. i am trying to learn low poly modeling as well though. serious texturing is a somewhat new thing for me, so i am going to post some experiments with that as well. i have been browsing this forum for a while now, and have seen a lot of great work, so i am eager to share mine with you, and i hope you enjoy some of it

I decided to do a quick game model tonight. Modeled Low-Res in Maya, sculpted in Zbrush, normal map out of Zmapper. Turned out alright I think for less than an hour. I plan on painting a color/spec map as well, and normal mapping the rebar with the Nvidia Plugin/CrazyBump.

VERY impressive! I particularly love the intricate and beautiful designs on the shield and gauntlet...very beautiful. Your attention to the little details are exquisite, they models almost don't even need a texture!!
Well, if you have any updates, I can't wait to see what you come up, texture wise! (thumbs up) |

so i decided to make a warcraft-esqe sword today. it was mostly a texture painting exercise, but also a low-poly modeling one as well. the sword is 268 tris right now, and the texture is currently 1024x512 (i may shrink it down farther, but my texturing teacher also told me to paint large, and then shrink down). here is the sword and the map as it stands thus far. i also started experimenting in emissive maps. i will be painting on more light details as i get closer to completion. let me know what can be improved! thanks!
