Veens Stuff

Hello people and welcome all to my scrapbook.

First things first. Gonna jump into the thick of things with a WIP pick from a car im working on for a college project. The project is a low poly racetrack. Polygon budget is 2000 polys onscreen at one time. All textures must be created from the same 256 indexed texture pallete but oh well. Not sure what size the texture maps will have to be though, I'm guessing 256x256

This is the first pic from a car I'm makin. Hope you like it. Took about 30 minutes to mash out this basic model.

Critique is very welcome, Cheers hehe.

Second car in my race. It's slightly shorter then the first but heavier and with bigger wheels. I gave both cars a budget of 200 polys. First one clocked in at 192 and the red one above is 178. So far so good.

Once again criticism welcome.

Would be nice to know what cars they are based on.
Also try to give us a better view of the models ( it looks like a user perspective which looks distorted) which gives us a better view on your topology in combination with the shape you are going for.

The cars themselves aren't based on anything. I was just in the mood of trying to make a car for the project really. But I'll upload a few more pics of them from different angles.

one from the back of car 1

and another from the underneath.

I'm think of re adding the back of the wheels and fixing the parts behind them. I have to animate the race and i was just thinking that if i dont need to see the bottom of the cars then i may as well leave them out. But in hindsight this brief will probably state that these cars will used for a game so i guess ill have t fix that hehe.

Those are some nice very low poly cars you got there. Try using a gray background, it helps the models stand out better. A value of around 128 for the RBG works great.

Cool low poly cars, great for a ds game (possibly). I'd like to see these textured though.

Yeah so am i to be honest hahaha. Still waiting on the brief from college to find out the texture size and that before I jump into it. Although I must say the UV mapping is not my strong point hahaha.
