I started working on a model. I wanted to limit it to 2000 polygons. So far it's 1672, so there's some room for more details. It'll be a monster/enemy character that will use its spikes to make new holes into player.

Nope, I live in a different country.
Well, anyways, I continued the monster model. Now it's 2444 polygons, I think it's still in acceptable level, but there are some places I could optimize. But I think I should also test how Doom3 engine performs with lots of monsters around. ![]() |

The monster went through some changes. Instead of big spikes for hands, it got 3 long spike fingers and little spike thumb. Toes got spikes too and the back spike thing got raised a bit. I also removed all unwanted triangle polygons, so it's all quads, only the spike ends are triangle polygons. I think the model is done now. It's 3046 polygons and 1553 vertices.

Thanks
![]() Well, I've done some running animation.. here's a pic of them running around. I'll record a video when I get more animations/actions and maybe sounds for them done. I don't plan to complete all animations right away, just all the basic stuff: idle, walk, run, attack right, attack left, attack both, maybe a jump, pain and death. I think later it could have crouching/crawling, climbing and swimming too. |
