Haven't done any updates for a while, for some good reasons . I started an art test for Dice 6 days ago, so that pretty much took all my time. I couldn't post any shots while i was working on it, but now that it's done and submitted, the result...









Those last two are construction shots with normals and AO...

May I ask what kind of lighting you use to showcare you'r props? I've always been curious about this topic, you guys always nail the most great lighting when showcasing the props.

Oh and btw, i'm going to give your shader a try today night, thanks for sharing with us. You are being a great inspiration for me, thanks.

Thanks guys. This test was for my internship, but I hope that i'll be able to prove that i have what it takes and that I can get a full job there...

@[hP]: I'm using the most basic setup realy, 2 or 3 omnilights, an orange one and a blue one, very unsatureated. that's pretty much it. And catmull rom ofcourse. I made some changes to my shader btw, i'll upload the new too. It supports up to 3 lights, to give peope a little more freedom...

I can see some extra and useless edges -- Those at the MAG holder for instance. Do you keep them for mesh cleanness?

@fabiodan: yea, you're right there. I could've saved polies in a few areas indeed. however the more edges you delete the more your normal map has to fix. The mesh is about 3k3 tris atm, and with a 3k5 limit i didn't realy have a poly problem. I suppose i didn't really pay enough attention to it. God that symetry line on the bottom of that clip is a thorn in my eye now... ^^
