Its getting there.. First complete low bake, still some tweaking before texturing.

Been working some more on the splashdamage arttest.
Done a simple texture, unwrapped the low poly.
Having some problems with the seams.
Model is currently 6288tris.

Big version of the texturemaps here.





Any feedback, critic and so on is more then welcome.
Tomorrow I will fix the seams and do a couple of different texture versions.

Tonight Ill either play Skyrim of keep working on a old model I picked up again this weekend. Going to do a better version of it and handpainting a good texture for it. It a Starcraft character and I aim to texture it in a wow style.

Done another texture version.


Thinking of redoing the basemesh, since the model is 6288 tris and its ok to up to 8k Im thinking of rounding of some things and making geometry of some of the normalmap.

Rendered out some maps and made a low poly version of the drill.

Texture is just maps, no work except xnormal+maya diffuse texturerender.

Remapped the splashdamage art test, straightend everything out and packed it tight.

Now its time for pytt i panna and then Im gonna texture it.
Going for a more military or space exploration style for the texture now where they use this object for something when they set up new bases, then they move it.

Done a new uv for the garand, retextured it.
Also done some work on the splash damage art test. But Im gonna redo it.

Not really sure Ive made the best shader setup in UDK, will have a look at that tomorrow.

Spent the day finishing up the splashdamage arttest, the garand and also putting together a portfolio.

Great sketchbook!

The Garand model and texture looks really nice. Although I think it would be good idea to remove some of the highlights on the wood texture to make it more evenly lit in game.

I really dig the texture on the splash damage art test, really nice weathering. Watch out for visible mirroring on the sides (kortsidan ).
