Hi my name is Quentin Poulaert. I decide to make a sketchbook to receive some critiques about my job.

The link to other jobs is : Poulaert Quentin Portfolio

I begin with a simple chair:

Barbed Wires

I made some barbed wires but I'm not sure that my wood look great, what do you think?

I'm also asking what techniques can you use to make wire (I'm working with unity3D for that project)? I made two cross plane with double sided shader.

Castle

Hi,

I post a new image cause I need some advices about the castle above. I have some problems with the walls... I wanted them white but it seems not good looking.

It's a Work in progress so I must add the lights on the wall and some painting but if you have some advices about wall texture it could be great.

thanks

You could have those walls white but it would be a bit bland, perhaps some wooden panelling going halfway up the wall? Something like this http://www.rona.ca/rona/img/3279-2_S...8069003918.jpg but different colours. Also if you populate them with a few tapestries, paintings, doors and ornaments then it wouldn't look so bare. The scene you have there is already very noisy so I think you should either make the walls busy enough to blend in without making the scene too busy, or have them contrast somehow.

I really like the unity engine, but it's too costly for me, is it good to work with?

Thanks for the image, it's a good idea to cut the wall in two parts. I also counted add some props on the walls but not yet time for.

The unity engine is really powerful. It's sure that it's expensive but the possibilities with that engine are really interesting. The development is easy to access but can be to a high level. Moreover the community is also really present.
I also use the UDK because that one is also great for simple level that doesn't need development.
