You've definitely got some nice work here. That 3d version ofyour concept looks quite epic, I hope you finish it. Really like your concept work, that's something you should definitely keep up, will be a nice skill to have when you start working. Maybe not something you use every day but it shows you have a good eye
![]() I think he problem wih the gold on the handle (and the wood) is that it looks like ts covered in varnish or lacquer. There needs to be a bit smaller highlights and you'd get dirt build up in corners, making it less shiny. Also you can play with the speculat colour, gold usually produces yellow highlights and tints the reflections yellow as well. Just something to keep in mind for future metal work reference is your best friend in these cases. |

Thank you a lot for the helpful input! I think I'm going to rework the dagger textures later, but for now i have to keep it like that because the time we had to finish the on-road test is over.
Glad you like the concept stuff. Even if i'm going for 3D environment art i think it won't hurt to have some concept work in the portfolio. I'm currently finishing and polishing some more for this, will definitely finish the city thing. It's really great and quick to start with a 3D blockout, then paint on top of it ![]() ![]() ![]() Also worked some more on this guy, the original character concept is by a very great classmate. ![]() |
